In this seater project, I would like to design a seater whereby can be use inside or within mosque environment which based on my observation there have no special or specific seater that can be used inside mosque for religion purposes such as seater for prayer, reading Al-Quran or while conducting an Islamic lecture. Beside designing the seater itself, I also have to think how to make the seater design such a wonderful design parallel to its position which will been located inside the sacred place. Below are my design statement on this seater project:

DESIGN CONCEPT : FLOOR SEATER
DESIGN CRITERIA : MODULAR- Can be rearrange at any
place
: LIGHTWEIGHT- 80% of the design
using Pine wood
ATTRACTIVE - 20% of the
ornamentation of
Malay woodcarving motif + Islamic
Arabesque Pattern will using laser
cutting machine on acrylic.
PROBLEM STATEMENT : there have no specific seater inside
the mosque environment that can be
part of the religion activity such as
for prayer, reading Al-Quran or
Islamic lecture that suitable to this
sacred place.
The existing seater design that have
been used inside the mosque
environment nowadays are took from
typical normal chair.
DESIGN CONSIDERATION: Study on the ergonomic factor to
see the correct body posture while
sit on the seater.
Observe on how the user react
toward the existing seater design
inside the mosque.
Observe toward the similar seater
design for improvise purposes.
Understanding the Malay culture,
Aesthetic and functionality of the
product.
In order to make this seater become wonderful, I've decided to combined the Malay famous woodcarving motif, Awan Larat together with Islamic Arabesque pattern into it in order to embrace it position suitable within mosque environment. As a Muslim practitioner and also Malay people, I try to combine these two element of design into my seater design so it become balance and attractive. Below are my previous study on the element of Malay woodcarving motif and Islamic Arabesque pattern that will become my masterpiece of this seater project.

STUDY ON ISLAMIC ARABESQUE PATTERN
The objective the designers make a study on various types of seating position is to identified the best seating position that would be apply by the user when they sit on the seater. Other than that, the designer try to understand the Malay cross-legged siting position which sinonim with Malay people. By studying these sitting position will give a clear view on the area that the designer have to tackle when designing the cushion or supporter on top of the seater so it can cover the whole area of the buttock and give the comfortable seating position to the user.
DESIGNING PROCESS
In the early stage of designing process, the designer has practiced the basic manual hand sketches in order to get the rough idea of the seater design. in this process, the designer had come out with several idea whereby later it will go through the process of design selection to reach at the final idea of the seater design. Below are the several idea of design concept and design proposal.
THE PROCESS OF MAKING MOCK UP
Before the process of fabrication of final seater design, it is very important to the designers to visualize the final design from the process of idea development by doing a full scale or down scale mock up in order to avoid from any unpredictable error when reach at the manufacturing process. This mock up process will give the whole idea of the seater design which the designer could see any weird or any defect to the final design. At this stage, the designer still have time to change the final design to be more practical, proportion and more wonderful. Below are the several Mock up which have different design and concept....
TECHNICAL DRAWING
After the designer has made a decision on the particular final design truth the mock up evaluation in term of the design criteria, he have to come out with full scale technical drawing based on the final selection through mock up design. This action is very important to determine whether his design have reach at the point of wonderful desing or not.....
